| | This Rectifier Diode #1N4001 is used as a "blocking diode" in a solar charging circuit to prevent the
energy stored in the batteries from "leaking" back out of the solar panel when in the dark.
Similar to a "check valve" in plumbing, where the water can only flow one way, keeping the well pipe filled with water.
The electric current produced by the solar panel is only allowed to go in one direction, so the energy stays in the batteries where we want it.
Can be used in charging circuits with any of our small panels. A diode is not necessary in solar direct applications. Requires soldering.
Rated at 50V, 1A.
