PowerFilm solar panels are amorphous silicon on a polymer substrate. Use the standard series panels for all kinds of battery charging projects. To use them outdoors where there might be rain or condensation, you'll need to weatherize the panels and wire connections.

The PowerFilm WeatherPro Series of solar panels are specially designed for outdoor use, with extra-rugged construction, a UV-stabilized surface, extra edge seal for weather protection, and tin-coated leads that extend from the module. Coat the solder points with household silicone sealant to create a tightly sealed package.
