| |  This is a really simple solar battery charger using the PowerFilm 6V 100ma flexible solar panel. These flexible solar modules can wrap around a 2" pole!
We've simply soldered a 4 AA or AAA holder to the solar panel and included a blocking diode to prevent current leakage back through the panel at night.
Includes 4 Ni-MH (Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries, either 1700mAh AA or 900mAh AAA. If completely discharged, the AA batteries would require about 17 hours of sun to fully charge. The AAA's would take about 9 hours to fully charge.
Use this little charger for your own project or a homemade backpacking charger. Wires could be cut and lengthened as needed for your application.
