Solar Charge Controllers

Basic charge controllers or regulators provide overcharge protection for your batteries when solar charging. More advanced controllers have features like LVD (low voltage disconnect, automatically disconnects the load from the battery if the battery voltage gets too low) and battery system monitoring with LCD display.


Select a charge controller that is designed for the current output of your solar panel. Use the short-circuit current rating (Isc) of the solar panel, and add about 25% to get the recommended current rating of the charge controller.
